Mexican Fine Arts Center - Chicago, IL

The Mexican Fine Arts Center in Chicago Illinois, while small, serves the needs of the Mexican community, which is generally overlooked in larger museums. The fine arts featured are displayed along with text to tell the History of Mexico through the eyes of the Hispanic artists, rather than the Euro-American version of events that are normally inflicted on native art and culture. The exhibit showcases the history of Mexico in chronological order, from the rise of the Aztec empire, to the influences from the Spanish conquest, and ends with the migration of native Mexicans throughout the United States and the growing Hispanic population in Chicago. The center is located to meet the needs of the Hispanic population, as well as visitors who wish to experiance cultural diversity in Chicago.
